Automatic hyperlinks and email addresses

Posted in:

When creating a piece of content any web and email addresses are automatically converted into links - try it and see. Just type an email address press Preview and click on the hyper link to test it out. e.g. When typing a web address you need to include the www. prefix or it doesn't pick up the link e.g. link to www.cpaa.org.uk works but link to cpaa.org.uk doesn't — If you type the full http://cpaa.org.uk it does work! — so northing's perfect! Help With Logging In

We have just completed an update of the site which should resolve any log–in problems you may have encountered. However, you may need to clear any residual cookies (little programmes that remember your personal information for you such as user-name and password) from your browser for the new settings to take effect.

In Internet Explorer 6 you do this by:

Introduction to Forums

This is an example of how a Forum topic is created and posted on the home page. Members are then able to add comments at the foot of the forum creating an ongoing dialogue.

To create a forum click on the 'create content' link just below your user name (bottom right hand menu) Then simply follow the instructions and click 'Preview' to view how it will appear on the site. If you are happy with the content press 'Submit' and your forum will be posted.

Taxonomy (Categories)

Posted in:

I have just enabled the taxonomy - 'What I hear you groan?' The Categorisation function. This means you can select a category for every new article/ new item or story etc you create e.g. if it is MHA story just select MHA in the menu where you write the the new story. Being able to categorise like this means all content will be categorised together and if you then like - viewed togther. (see the links at the bottom of this article - 'Website' and 'About the CPAA' - and the similar ones at the foot of each story/ poll etc) Email me if you want to know more on this. Bye Chris

Certain menus are only visible to logged on members. You can choose whether you wish to see these menus or not.

  • To see which menus are available click on the 'my account' link on the list under your name (bottom right hand side).
  • Click on the 'edit' tab.
  • On your account page, scroll down till you see the box entitles 'Block configuration'.
  • Click on the ones you wish to see when you are logged on e.g. the calendar or the regional reps menus.
  • Don't forget to hit the 'Submit' button at the bottom of that page!

Hope this makes sense.
